FunDoo

We are pleased to announce the launch of FunDoo, a new digital skills development tool for adolescents and youth living in Greece. The tool has been developed by UNICEF Greece Country Office and Junior Achievement Greece, under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Vocational Education, Training, Lifelong Learning, and Youth.

FunDoo is available in Greek and English, through the U-Report Greece platform, and aims to equip adolescents and young adults aged 15-24 with 21st Century Skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and emotional skills, creativity etc. In addition, it provides useful career guidance information, as well as exercises for the development of entrepreneurial skills.

All youth 15-24 years old living in Greece can access the tool for free, by sending the message “FunDoo” via WhatsAppViberInstagram, or Facebook Messenger. Users, then, interact with a chatbot through a series of nine interactive tasks, exclusively designed to focus on the process of learning through play. The content is put forward in a simple and understandable language, helping users to carry out easy and short activities that allow them to gradually develop 21st Century Skills that meet the demands of the modern labor market. Upon completion of all nine FunDoo tasks, users can obtain a Certificate of Participation.

FunDoo's pedagogical approach is based on the principles of experiential learning, giving users the opportunity to complete each task in any order and time they want. The tool was designed with the global expertise of UNICEF Office of Innovation, while Greece is the 1st country in Europe and the 4th country worldwide launching the tool!

FunDoo's adaptation to the Greek context was based on the results of the U-Report poll on Learning and Employability conducted in September 2022, as well as on a Needs Assessment with the participation of young people and teachers that took place in the 1st quarter of 2023.
