UNICEF Greece Country Office and the Network for Children's Rights (NCR) are delighted to announce
the launch of U-Report Greece, a platform aiming to enhance youth
participation in democratic life and empower youth to share their opinions on
matters that affect them and their communities. The objective of U-Report is to
foster a sense of active citizenship amongst adolescents and youth 14-25 years
old and incorporate their voices into the policy-making process.
U-Report is
a UNICEF platform launched in 2011 and used by more than 21 million children
and young people in 88 countries. The platform gives young people a chance to
express their views on political and social issues that concern them, by
responding to polls on topics ranging from their expectations from authorities,
to mental and physical health, child obesity and nutrition, climate change and
more.
Adolescents and
youth can register to U-Report Greece anonymously and free of charge and
provide answers to the polls via the leading messaging app in Greece – Viber, also on Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. Each time
an online poll is launched, users will receive notifications on the social
media platforms they have registered with. U-Report aims to work as a tool to
amplify young people’s voices and collect data, which can inform local,
regional and national decision-makers to create policies and strategies that
will contribute in achieving better outcomes for adolescents and youth and
promoting the rights of children.
For the implementation
and promotion of the U-Report in Greece, UNICEF collaborates with the Network
for Children’s Rights, a non-profit organization that brings expertise in the
field of educating parents, teachers, the general public as well as children themselves
about their rights.
UNICEF Greece along with
NCR welcome and encourage children and young people to register on the U-Report
Greece Platform and share their opinions on issues prevalent in their lives.
We want to hear from you,
your voice matters!
